We believe that architecture holds the ability to create spaces and places that make you feel good, from your home, workplace, a café or even farm shop. We design thoughtful, enjoyable buildings which as timeless (much like us!).

We come to every project with open eyes and ears, and with honesty, curiosity and care. Before we do anything, we start the design process by listening deeply to our clients, to really understand their needs. To this we add our professional architectural design knowledge and experience from the variety of architectural projects we have worked on.

If you are interested in what a building, designed exactly for you, could feel like, we would we’d love to talk. On the other hand, if you’re not too bothered about what your building will look like or how it will make you feel, then we’re probably not the architects for you.

We are an award winning, RIBA Chartered Architectural practice with a simple mission: to design places that starts with you. We design buildings and homes that we can all be proud of – happy, healthy places that are kind to you and the planet.

Our work is not limited to the area we live in, although we do love working on projects across Sussex, we keep our horizons wide, and we have architectural projects in many corners of London and the South East. In fact, if it’s the right project and the right client, we’ll work almost anywhere.

Our design experience.

We all bring different perspectives to the table, each member of the George & James team has rich design experience, between us we have worked on everything, from
one-off bespoke houses, to cafes, workspaces and even yoga studios. We love bouncing ideas off each other and putting our heads together when a problem seems particularly knotty. Those are some of the very best things about being the resourceful, close-knit team we are.

Although we enjoy working locally on projects in West Sussex, we do work on many projects in areas of London and the South East. In fact, if it’s the right project and the right client, we’ll work almost anywhere.
