Extension and refurbishment to a late 20th Century House in Surrey
Working closely with our clients, Sophie and Robert, to enlarge and uplift their long-term family home in leafy Surrey. The projects focus was one of enlarging and reconfiguring the existing house to better suit the needs of this busy family’s lifestyle. Downstairs offers flexible spaces in which to cook, eat, socialise, relax and work, whilst upstairs offers generous spaces for each family member to retreat and relax.
Externally the building has been clad with in a warm hung clay tile which sits neatly above a clean white
rendered ground floor giving a real pop and revisatlisation to the property, all tied together with uplifted
external landscaping.
The home now includes a two-story side extension which provides a new master bedroom, dressing room and
two en-suites at the first floor and a new family snug, utility room and garage below. On the opposite side of
the house, a new ground floor study has been added, nestled within the un-used space between this and the
neighbouring property, providing a quiet space to work.
The flow of the house is really family friendly, orientated around spacious ground floor living and generously
sized bedroom and bathroom spaces for each family member. In turn offering a wonderful space to grow with
the family for years ahead.
