Whole house refurbishment and extension
Slaithwaite Road began as a partial refurbishment but quickly expanded into a comprehensive reimagining of a South London terrace for a growing family. The existing layout was fragmented and dark, with a rear extension disconnected from the main house.
We reconfigured the ground floor to create a light-filled kitchen-diner with seamless access to the garden, improving flow and daylight throughout. Upstairs, bedrooms and bathrooms were reorganised to better support family life. A calm palette of natural materials such as timber, terrazzo, and limewash fosters cohesion and warmth.
The clients later invited us back to design the interiors of the lounge, children’s bedrooms, and principal suite, layering texture, character, and comfort over the architectural foundation.
Slaithwaite Road exemplifies how projects evolve from structural changes to detailed interiors all shaped by understanding family life and its changing needs.
