Manorwood

Manorwood is a specialist historic buildings consultancy providing a range of services to private clients, professionals and larger organisations.

With a focus on traditional vernacular buildings, particularly timber framed buildings, we provide specialist advice and services for numerous projects involving the restoration, re use or redevelopment of historic buildings.

Based between Chichester and Midhurst in the heart of the South Downs National Park we undertake work throughout West Sussex, East Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire.

John Fannon

John Fannon is a chartered planning consultant with over 30 years of experience. Since 2010 John has been working successfully as a planning consultant for a range of public and private sector clients. He has recently acted as Local Authority expert planning witness at several public inquiries. John has held senior positions in planning authorities in London and the Southeast.

Max Fordham

Max Fordham is a building services engineers consultancy.

Increasingly, it’s an industry referred to as environmental engineering, and we’re very comfortable with that. Where once the engineer’s lot was ‘pipes and wires’, now it encompasses everything from daylighting and acoustics to building physics and sustainability. In essence, everything that impacts on the internal environment of a building and its performance.

Our approach differs from that of conventional environmental building services engineers. Each member of our team is trained in electrical and mechanical engineering, environmental design and building physics. This training takes place in-house, creating an integrated understanding that considers the whole building. We deliver buildings that work, with a focus on detail and finish, to ensure our engineering serves the architecture. It's the way Max trained his team and it's an approach that has endured.

For over 50 years we’ve been pioneers in sustainable, low energy and low carbon building design. Landscape Architects & Garden Designers

Tom Stuart Smith

Tom Stuart-Smith Ltd is a landscape design practice with an international reputation for making gardens that combine naturalism and modernity. The practice was established in 1998. Work since has ranged from large gardens and parks open to the public, to smaller private gardens. Tom Stuart-Smith Ltd has also designed a number of gardens for the Chelsea Flower Show. Eight of these have been awarded gold medals, and three have won ‘Best in Show’. Most projects are located in the UK and Europe, with a few undertaken further afield. Despite the scale and complexity of our work we remain a medium-sized practice, with eighteen landscape architects and designers, and three overseas consultants working under the direction of Tom Stuart-Smith, who is closely involved with each project.

Kim Wilkie

Kim Wilkie believes that each place has its own special character and identity – a continuous conversation between the physical form and the lives lived and shaped within it. As a landscape architect I try to understand the memories and associations embedded in a place and the natural flows of people, land, water and climate.

Jane Holtham Garden Design

Jane Holtham loves creating gardens for her clients. The process of working closely together to make a space that feels personal to them and that they will enjoy for years.

Most clients tend to know what they want in theory, but might not quite know how to go about it themselves or they are simply too busy. 

A lot of care goes into choosing the right materials that will work for a space, and planting is tailored to each client, taking into account the soil type, aspect and local conditions.

Much of the work involves the complete redesign of outside spaces, working closely with the commissioned architect or interior designer to achieve a strong relationship between the house and its garden.
