Sussex Architects

Our final list of suggested design practices that are from Sussex, where we are lucky enough to now work (and live!). The beautiful county is steeped in art and architectural history, with set to a backdrop of stunning natural landscape of the South Downs National Park.
Here are some suggestions for architectural practices who have their studios dotted across Sussex, so if we do not quite fit with what you are looking for here are some alternatives you might want to look into, in no particular order:
Chichester Architects
Chichester is such a vibrant city, and the only city in West Sussex! We love to visit, there is much to take in, from the Roman history, the many architectural treats from all eras dotted around and of course the very lively arts scene.
Helyer Davies Architects
Helyer Davies Architects are based near Chichester, they are an innovative architecture studio working across a range of styles and settings, from town to country to coast, creating beautiful homes that positively contribute to the character of the south coast and further afield.
James Wells Architects
James Wells Architects design spectacular homes for their clients to enjoy. They design unique new build houses, undertake refurbishments and remodelling schemes for historic listed buildings, rising to the design challenges of today’s complex planning system.
Billingshurst Architects
The pretty village of Billingshurst evolved as a natural meeting point between two key routes, running east to west and north to south, with origins in the Anglo-Saxon period. Located in west Sussex, just 8 miles from Horsham and about 15 miles from our studio in Midhurst, the village is characteristic of the South Downs, with gentle undulating farmland and some stunning period architecture.
Minniedale Projects
Minniedale Projects are an independent client-side construction project management and design consulting partner working across Sussex, helping their clients navigate the intricate world of construction and architectural projects.
Folkes Architects
Folkes Architects create beautiful spaces and award-winning designs for domestic and commercial clients across East and West Sussex, Hampshire and Surrey since 2002. They take pride in their imaginative design of spaces for their clients, to create buildings and extensions that maximise light and are unique and practical.
Midhurst Architects
Obviously we believe that Midhurst is a wonderful place to work, as this is where we decided to set up our own studio. With the South Downs on our doorstep, and the town itself has an array of fine examples of architecture from Tudor, Victorian and Edwardian times, in fact there are an impressive 106 listed buildings in the town.
Jennifer Lewin Architect
Jennifer Lewin has developed a specialisation that combines the essence of homemaking, building conservation and the embodiment of memory in the landscape. Her experience working with historic buildings has developed an understanding of the enduring nature of proportion and quality that underpins good design in both period and contemporary contexts.
Boher Architecture
Boher Architecture are a team of highly skilled designers, CAD technicians, property surveyors and building engineers that specialise in architecture, planning and project management, dedicated to ensuring their clients have the perfect design and build whatever the project.
Alchemy – House of Design
Alchemy specialise in residential projects, providing end-to-end architectural services from concept to construction, to deliver thoughtfully designed and highly functional homes. Their team of experienced designers, planners and project leaders skillfully combine expertise and imagination to create appealing and functional spaces

Sharpe Architects
Sharpe Architecture is a RIBA chartered contemporary design studio based in Royal Tunbridge Wells, covering London and the South East of England. The practice is led by a husband-and-wife team, who between them have worked on many different architectural sectors, from one off houses, to community project.
Nimtim Architects
Nimtim are a practice of architects, landscape and interior designers based in South London. The team are ARB registered and an RIBA Chartered Practice, who have had their designs widely recognised as a leading young practice.
Steadman Blower
Stedman Blower is one of the UK's oldest architectural practices, now operating for over 125 years and based near Liphook. Their work is intrinsically linked to heritage, evolution and family, channelling these through their architectural designs.
